Namma Metro Contactless Smart Cards (CSC) are closed loop cards and can be used for travel only in Namma Metro. Whereas, RuPay National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) which are open loop cards is in line with “One Nation One Card” which are interoperable across all transport systems in the Country, wherever implemented for a seamless travel experience. In addition, the Single NCMC can also be used for Shopping needs at Retail Stores, Petrol Bunks etc.
Namma Metro (BMRCL) is taking steps to improve the buying experience of NCMC cards more convenient for the commuters across all metro stations with effect from 21.08.2023.
!n this connection to have a Minimum Know Your Customer (KYC), Passengers are encouraged to self-register on “NAMMAMETRO.AGSlNDIA.COM” website or “BMRCL RBL Bank NCMC” mobile application and to convey the Registration Number / Registered Mobile Number to the Operator at the ticket counters for a hassle-free issuance of NCMC instantly. Sale Price of the Card is Rs 50/-. NCMC carries the same discount on travel fare of 5% available on Smart cards. Ru Pay National Common Mobility Cards (NCMCs) are also available at all RBL Bank Branches for issuance.
Namma Metro (BMRCL) is also taking steps to phase out its closed loop Smart Cards in the coming days to reduce passenger wallet burden of having different cards for travel and shopping needs.
