Online applications have been invited for the educational, self-employment and irrigation schemes for the year 2026-27 through various corporations functioning under the Department of Backward Classes Welfare, including the D. Devaraj Urs Backward Classes Development Corporation, Karnataka Veerashaiva, Vishwakarma, Maratha, Savitha Samaja, Nomadic/Semi-Nomadic, Madivala Machideva, Uppara, Nijasharana Ambigara Chowdaiya and Kadugolla Development Corporations.
Eligible candidates can apply through the Seva Sindhu portal (http://sevasindhu.karnataka.
Major schemes:
D. Devaraj Urs Self-Employment Individual Loan Scheme, Ganga Kalyana Irrigation Scheme, Arivu – Educational Loan Scheme, Loan Scheme for Higher Studies in Foreign Universities, Swavalambi Sarathi Scheme and Sewing Machine Distribution Scheme.
Eligibility and important conditions for applying:
Eligible communities: Communities falling under Categories 1, 2A, 3A and 3B of the Backward Classes.
Income limit: For general schemes, the annual family income should not exceed Rs. 98,000 in rural areas and Rs. 1,20,000 in urban areas. The income limit is Rs. 3.50 lakhs for the Arivu Scheme and Rs. 15.00 lakhs for higher studies abroad.
Documents required for application:
The Aadhaar card must be linked to the bank account. The name on the Aadhaar card, caste/income certificate and bank passbook must be the same.
Note: Those who have previously been beneficiaries of any scheme of the corporation are not eligible to apply again. Those who applied in 2024-25 and 2025-26 but did not receive the benefits need not apply again.
