Bengaluru, 29th July: Bengaluru FC announced their 27-man roster for the 2024 edition of the prestigious Durand Cup, which kicked off over the weekend in Kolkata. The 2022 champions, who have roped in several new signings over the summer, are set to begin their campaign against Indian Navy FT on the 31st of July at the VYBK Stadium, in Kolkata.
“Over the last month or so, we’ve put in a lot of work on the training ground. I believe we have a very talented and balanced group that is ready for the challenge. The Durand Cup is a prestigious competition, and we’re committed to performing at our best. This also serves as an opportunity for us to test ourselves against some really good opposition in the build up to the Indian Super League,” said Blues’ boss Gerard Zaragoza.
Grouped alongside Indian Navy FT, Inter Kashi and ISL debutants Mohammedan SC, the Blues squad includes new foreign signings Pedro Capo, Jorge Pereyra Diaz, Alberto Noguera and Edgar Mendez. In addition, the Blues have also added graduates Clarence Fernandes, Ashik Adhikari and Vinith Venkatesh to their squad for the tournament.
