Dr. Nagalakshmi Chowdhary, Chairperson, Karnataka State Commission for Women visited Vijayanagar Metro Station today and interacted with Officials of BMRCL and women employees.
She was briefed about the facilities provided by BMRCL to the women employees and for their welfare measures. Later she interacted with the commuters at the stations and also inside the train during her travel up to Krishnarajapura Metro Station about their safety and comfort. Most of the passengers have given positive feedback regarding Metro services.
After public interaction, expressing her happiness about Metro’s reliability, convenience and its on time running, Chairperson suggested to look into the possibility of enhancing the Train frequency further and additional coaches for women during peak hours.
A.S. Shankar, Executive Director (O&M) said that the Corporation is already providing additional short loop services during peak hours and the frequency of the train will be increased after getting additional trains.
