A one-day Cyber Crime Investigation Training and Research Centre, established in collaboration with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Karnataka, Infosys Foundation and Data Security Council of India (DSCI), organized a one-day Cyber Crime Investigation Training and Research Centre at Hotel JW Marriott in Bengaluru today.

The day-long summit will feature interactive sessions with senior police officers and cybersecurity experts, a master class on cyber laws, and technical presentations by leading professionals in the field. It includes innovative tabletop exercises, specifically for police officers, that include strategies for managing and responding to ransomware attacks in real-world scenarios.The CCITR Centre, created in 2019 in partnership with Infosys Foundation and Data Security Council of India, continues its efforts to build capacity in cybercrime investigation. The Home Ministers of Karnataka State felicitated the winners of Hackathon and Cyber Law Ideathon. The students who participated in the Hackathon addressed issues like “Detection of Deep Fakes, Use of Blockchain Technology, etc.” Developed software to address the issue. Participants in the Cyber Law Ideathon came up with creative ideas and drafted legal frameworks and policies to strengthen the prosecution of cybercrimes.
On the occasion, he also released the much-awaited revised 4th edition of the “Cyber Crime Investigation Manual”, a key resource packed with the latest trends, tools and techniques for effectively handling cyber crimes.
More than 150 top police officers from Karnataka and 55 top police officers from other states and the Centre participated to address the growing challenges of cybercrime through knowledge sharing, skill development and collaboration.
The summit opened with a call to address emerging issues in the cyber world, including Ransomware, phishing, and identity fraud, through continued collaboration between law enforcement, government, and private partners.
