Applications invited for scholarship; Academy President Shubha Dhananjaya instructs to submit filmed video on pen drive
Bangalore, September 04 (Karnataka News):
Karnataka Sangeetha Nritya Academy has invited applications for scholarships from various parts of the state for six categories. Artists can submit their applications by presenting the syllabus given to them for the year 2026-27 in the presence of their teachers at their residences and filming a video, said Karnataka Sangeetha Nritya Academy President Mrs. Shubha Dhananjaya.
Speaking at a press conference at Kannada Bhavan today, he said that this step has been taken to prevent candidates coming from different districts of the state from spending time, effort and money by coming here with equipment and teachers. Candidates between the ages of 15 and 24 who are practicing in the fields of Carnatic music, Hindustani music, Sangeet Nritya Sugama Sangeet Katha Kirtan and Gamaka are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
Instead of an interview, the video pen drives sent by the candidates will be presented before the selection committee. The selection committee will review and make a selection, which will be the final decision, he said.
This year’s selection committee includes Dr. Munireddy, Mr. Kasim and Mrs. Ushabasappa, who will select the scholarship applications. A total of 100 candidates from all departments will be given a scholarship of Rs. 10000/ each and a certificate as fixed by the government, and this amount will be given only once. The selection will be done honestly and fairly. If there are any problems in this regard, they can come and resolve it in person, he said.
Until now, the deadline for submitting applications was September 15, but it will be extended until September 21, he said.
Registrar N. Narendra Babu was present at the press conference.
