Bengaluru, Jan 5: Local lad and top seed Nithilan Eric will take on the challenge of Arunava Majumder of West Bengal in the summit clash of the AITA Under-18 Championship Series tennis tournament hosted by the Rohan Bopanna The Sports School Tennis Academy. In the semifinals played here on Tuesday, ย Nithilan and Ritabrata, both who belong to the host Academy, beat Ritabrata Sarkar (West Bengal) and Skanda Prasanna Rao (Karnataka) with a scoreline of 9-4 and 9-3 respectively. Earlier Ritabrata had felled third seed Ninad Ravi in the quarterfinals.
The Maruru sisters from the host state โ Reshma and Suhitha ranked No.1 and No.2 respectively will fight it out for honours. While Reshma was a 9-3 winner over Sreenidhi Balaji in the first semifial, Suhitha prevailed over fourth seed Samiksha Dabas of Delhi 9-5 in the secnd last-four clash.
