‘Riti’ is a piece from the collection that is an ode to a new bride named Kriti who had immense compassion for a community ostracized in India since time immemorial. On her wedding day when ten transgender women stood beside her as her bridesmaids, she made the rare choice of being a daughter who set compassion at the very core of her new beginning. The piece where each leaf is as unique as the one it follows & envelopes the next to create a chain of compassion is symbolic of this rare story.
Another story is of a bride “Anam” who in addition to their wedding vows made her husband vow to help her educate ten young girls from her village. The piece “Nam” is an ode to Anam’s empathy the underprivileged girls in her village.
