Bengaluru, July 26: Saanvi Misra who is five months younger to her seventh seeded opponent Tamanna Saha of West Bengal but ranked over 150 ranks below her. But neither the age nor the ranking mattered much as the lass from Karnataka put up a spirited performance script an upset victory to enter the quarterfinals of the Nichsolv AITA Super Series U-16 at KSLTA here on Tuesday.
However it was qualifier V Chingatagere Naveen who created the biggest flutter of the day when she ousted third seed Arzan Khorakiwala 7-5, 6-7 (7), 6-3 (both Karnataka) in a match that lasted close to three hours. Meanwhile in the Boys category, qualifier Anurag Kallambella upset fourth seed Gandharv Kothapalli 7-6 (5) 6-2 to advance to the last eight stage.
