Thaawarchand Gehlot, Hon’ble Governor of Karnataka presented Honorary Doctorate conferred by Tumkur University to Shri Shri Jagadguru Ramanujacharya of Yadgiri Yathiraj Math at Chowdaiah Memorial Hall in , Bengaluru today. C. N. Ashwath Narayan , Minister of Higher Education, IT & BT, Govt of Karnataka and other dignitaries were present.
Later, he said that Mr. Praveen Gorkhindi in the field of Music and Mr. Ram Shankar Kuril in the field of Agricultural Science and Technology were awarded honorary doctorates in the convocation of Tumkur University.
Param Pujya Sri Yathiraj Jeyar Swamy has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University for his outstanding contribution in the social field.He said that conferring this honorary doctorate on His Holiness is indeed an act of honoring and remembering the great legacy of Sri Ramanujacharya. It is gratifying to know that the Math has taken up several intellectual and spiritual projects under the able guidance of His Holiness
