Bengaluru, June 12:
All necessary preparations have been made to ensure the smooth conduct of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the Bengaluru Central Urban District, stated Additional District Election Officer and Commissioner of Bengaluru Central, G. Jagadeesh.
Addressing the media after a meeting with representatives of political parties regarding the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, he said that detailed information about the SIR process had been shared with all political parties. Doubts and questions raised during the meeting were discussed, and many were clarified on the spot. The remaining issues will be discussed with the Election Commission and the Chief Electoral Officer, and further information will be provided accordingly.
The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process is being conducted across the country, and Karnataka is implementing it in the third phase. Meetings have already been held with the concerned officials, and necessary instructions have been issued to ensure the process is carried out according to the schedule announced by the Election Commission.
All eligible young citizens who will attain 18 years of age as of October 1, 2026, will have the opportunity to enroll in the electoral roll. Some political parties have already submitted the list of their Booth Level Agents (BLAs), while the remaining parties have been requested to submit their BLA lists at the earliest.
Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct door-to-door verification and collect the required information through prescribed forms. The public has been requested to extend full cooperation during this exercise. After verification and reconciliation of the collected data, the draft electoral roll will be published.
The Election Commission of India has undertaken the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) to ensure that all eligible voters are included in the electoral roll and that ineligible names are removed. All revision activities are being carried out strictly in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Election Commission.
Forms Disposal Process:
As part of the preparatory activities for the Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls–2026, the process of mapping the 2002 electoral roll with the 2025 electoral roll is currently underway. As per the directions of the Chief Electoral Officer, Karnataka, the e-roll will be frozen on June 16, 2026. Therefore, necessary steps will be taken to dispose of all pending applications under Forms 6, 6A, 7, and 8 before that date. The public has been requested to cooperate in this process.

* Period for Filing Claims and Objections: August 5, 2026 to September 4, 2026
* Disposal of Claims and Objections: August 5, 2026 to October 3, 2026
* Publication of Final Electoral Roll: October 7, 2026
