Instructions to make necessary preparations for the celebration of the world famous Bangalore “Karaga Shaktyotsava”: Avinash Menon Rajendran.

Special Commissioner of Administration, Avinash Menon Rajendran, instructed the officials to make necessary preparations for the celebration of the world famous Bangalore “Karaga Shaktyotsava”.
He was speaking while addressing a preliminary meeting held today at Hall-01 of the Municipal Corporation’s central office regarding the Karaga Mahotsav celebrations.
White topping work is underway on the road near the Sri Dharmarayaswamy Temple, where Karaga is located, and he instructed the officials to complete the pending work by the end of the month.
Jagadish, the Deputy Commissioner of Bangalore City, said that the roads and footpaths along the route of the Karaga Shaktyotsava should be repaired. The streets on the roads where the Karaga Utsava takes place also should be repaired
He said that the lights should be checked to make sure they are working properly and arrangements should be made to install electric lights everywhere. He also asked BESCOM to take appropriate measures to prevent power outages. The Karaga Mahotsav will be held from 4th April 2025 to 14th April 2025, and he suggested that a solid waste department officer and additional staff be deployed for cleanliness management during this time.
Drinking water and toilets should be arranged for devotees and the public. The water board instructed the officials to clean the drains and take necessary steps to prevent sewage from leaking anywhere.
Security arrangements by the Police Department:
The Traffic Police Division should divert routes and allocate parking spaces for vehicles in the areas surrounding the Dharmaraya Swamy Temple to avoid congestion.
Police security arrangements should be made to prevent vehicles from being parked anywhere and to ensure the safety of devotees and the public.
Installation of CCTV cameras:CC cameras will be installed as a precautionary measure to prevent any untoward incidents during the Karaga Mahotsav. Barricading system and fire extinguishing system should be implemented to prevent fire accidents.
Deployment of health personnel:
Medical officers and staff should be deployed from the municipal health department to provide immediate treatment to those who come to watch the Karaga during the Karaga days if they become unwell. He also suggested that ambulance arrangements should be made for emergency treatment.
Karaga Mahotsava Details:
* ‘Rathotsava Flag Hoisting’ will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 10:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
* ‘Special Puja and Mahamangalaarti’ will be held from Saturday to Tuesday, April 5 to 8, 2025 at 7:30 PM.
* ‘Aarti Deepagalu’ will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 3:00 PM.
* “Hasi Karaga” will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Shakti Peetha in Sampangikere yard.
* “Karaga Shaktyotsava and Sri Dharmaraya Swamy Mahotsava” will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 12:30 PM.
On Sunday, April 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM, ‘Purana Pravachana and Gavu Shanti in the Temple’ will be held.
* On Monday, April 14, 2025, at 4:00 PM and 12:00 PM, the Karagavu will be completed with the ‘Vasanthotsava Dhwaarohana’.
On this occasion, MLA of Chikkapet Assembly constituency Dr. Uday B. Garuda Char, Zonal Commissioners Archana, Digvijay Bodke, Deputy Commissioner Manjunatha Swamy, BBMP, Muzrai Department officials, police officials, temple management committee and other concerned officials were present.
