“The first aarti to be held daily in Tirupati is from Karnataka. An order will be issued by the state government regarding the etiquette of offering this aarti to Karnataka’s representatives, officials and other dignitaries,” said CM DK Shivakumar.
CM DK Shivakumar spoke on Sunday after performing the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Sri Shanmukha Subramanya Temple in Lingadhiranahalli, the sixth phase of Banashankari, Bengaluru.
“Only the Chief Minister of the state is allowed to go near the inner main gate of the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple and perform puja. This aarti is received daily by a special officer of the Karnataka government. In the coming days, I have instructed the officials to issue an order that this aarti should be offered to anyone who visits, including ministers, MLAs, senior officials, judges, or anyone who has gone on behalf of the government,” he said.
“Many MLAs and public representatives have returned without getting darshan when they went to Tirupati. Now they will be given the opportunity to stand in front of the god and receive aarti. Those who serve this state have been provided this opportunity to pray to the god. This is the main announcement that will be made during my time,” he said.
“I had not been to Tirupati since I was released from jail. I thought about this during my recent visit. S. M. Krishna had formed a Karnataka Trust in Tirupati and made me its president with the aim of building a magnificent building. By then, our government’s term had ended. Since I was not continued, I could not do that work. There was seven acres of land there that was given during the Maharaja’s time,” he said.
It would be big news if Dwarkanath were to reveal something about his future.
“Dwaraknath kept talking about building a Subrahmanya temple. I had said that the opportunity would come. Now the opportunity has come. Dwaraknath is like a revered guru to me. His family is growing very well. Dwaraknath had made a prediction in the past. If I tell it here, it will be big news,” he said.
“A temple is a place of devotion, power, culture, and religion. It is a place where business is done for devotees and God. Devotees should come to this temple and find peace. Our hero Gangadhar Ajjayya made a declaration saying that humanity should become a god for religion, and that religion should bring peace to the world,” he said.
“Dwarkanath built the Subrahmanyeshwar temple. Then he said that his house god was Mylareshwar. But whatever the religion, the principle is the same. Whatever the name, the god is the same. Whatever the worship, the devotion is the same. Whatever the karma, the loyalty is the same. One God has many names,” he said.
“God’s form can be in many different forms. There is divine form in animals like stones, walls, humans. Basavanna said that Kailash is the highest mountain. It is written on the Vidhana Soudha that the work of the government is the work of God,” he said.
“Subrahmanya is the one born from the radiance of Shiva’s third eye. Whatever we worship, whatever we do, no matter how many rivers flow, it will eventually join the sea. Similarly, whatever god we worship, it will eventually join that Lord,” he said.
“May the grace of that Subrahmanya be upon everyone. A temple cannot be built by one person alone. It can only be done if everyone joins hands. This should be the temple of the people, yours,” he said.
The tower of divine grace on the foundation of devotion
“We have all come together to build a tower of divine grace on the foundation of devotion. Dharma eva hato hanti dharma rakshathi rakshitah/ Tasmadharmo na hantavyo ma no dharma hatovadhit. Whoever protects the religion, the religion protects them. No matter what caste they may be, Hindu, Christian, Muslim, Sikh, Jain, their religion and customs should be protected. We have created all this. It is not their job to build temples. It is the job of all of you and us. Let us grow and maintain this,” he said.
“This is the worship of devotion. This is the worship of our land. This is the worship of the devotional tradition of our country,” he said.
“C.V. Shastri introduced me to Dwarkanath. He has been guiding me for thirty-five years. If I tell you all the transactions, activities, and guidance he gave me, a big history book can be written,” he said.
Dwarkanath is not afraid of threats.
“Dwaraknath has also been criticized. He has also been attacked by the media. He has been asked to speak on behalf of DK Shivakumar. He has been threatened enough for twenty-five years. He has never been afraid of those threats. Devaraj Arasu, S M Krishna, Dharmasingh and many other chief ministers have sought his advice,” he said.
“My friend Subrahmanya, the son of a former MP, had cancer. I went to see my wife in 1993-94. There were not many medical facilities then. She was not even in a condition to survive. I asked her close friends to bring the horoscopes of her daughter and children. I gave it to my guru Dwarkanath. He said that after looking at it, he said that the mother will not be lost in these children’s horoscopes. Then he said that it would be enough to go to the Anjaneya temple near Hosadurga and perform pooja and homa. The daughter is still healthy,” he said.
“Through devotion, a great seed of spirituality has been sown. May all of you be blessed with good fortune, good health, knowledge, and peace. Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamy and Vidhushekar Bharati Tirtha Swami have blessed me. May peace and peace be upon the people of this holy place,” he said.
