Bangalore, September 4, 2026: ISKCON Bangalore celebrated Sri Krishna Janmashtami with great fervour on September 3 and 4, 2026 in four locations across the city. The festive atmosphere filled the air as people from all over India joyously visited these temples to have darshan of Lord Krishna and seek His divine blessings on this auspicious occasion. The celebrations included abhishekas, aratis, chappan bhog, pushpanjali seva, pallaki utsav and jhulan seva for the Lord in all the venues.
ISKCON Sri Radha Krishna Mandir at Hare Krishna Hill and ISKCON Sri Rajadhiraja Govinda Temple at Vaikuntha Hill were beautifully decorated with attractive flowers and festoons, enhancing the ambience. The presiding Deities were adorned in new garments, ornaments and fragrant flower garlands on these days. Devotees offered various sevas and upacharas according to Vedic tradition. Abhishekas, aratis, chappan bhog, makhan misri seva, pushpanjali seva, pallaki utsava and jhulan seva were part of the festivities. An elaborate midnight abhisheka was performed on September 4 to commemorate Sri Krishna’s divine advent. Other activities such as Gou Puja, Koti Japa Yagna, Gita Parayana, dance and music performances by popular artistes and shloka recitations by children were also organised. A Krishna Costume Contest was held online where parents dressed their children as Radha and Krishna and participated enthusiastically in the event. Delicious prasadam was distributed to visitors throughout these days at all locations.
KTPO, Whitefield hosted From Your Kitchen to Krishna with Love, where 5253 food items were offered as naivedya, marking the 5253rd holy appearance of the Lord. A Krishna Jamfest – Bhajan Jamming by Youth Bands was organised to engage the new generation in the festival. Multi-award-winning international artist Abby V enthralled the audience with a soul-stirring devotional concert on this occasion. The festivities will continue on September 5 at KTPO.
Swagatam Krishna, the digital Janmashtami celebrations, was live-streamed on September 4, 2026 from 8:00 PM onwards for the benefit of devotees across the globe.
