Bengaluru Central City Corporation Additional Commissioner for Development Venkatachalapathi and GBA Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao have mandated intensive cleanliness and civic management drives for K.R. Market and its surroundings.
Additional Commissioner for Development Venkatachalapathi, Bengaluru Central City Corporation chaired a meeting with officials and directed immediate measures to improve cleanliness in KR Market and surrounding areas, following instructions issued by GBA Chief Commissioner during his visit on June 8.
Actionable directives include:
- Waste Management: The basement flower market and the coriander market area will undergo routine cleanings to prevent unhygienic, water-logged conditions.
- Repairs: Potholes will be patched, and concrete will be laid in areas prone to rainwater accumulation.
- Encroachments & Vending: Unofficial structures and vendor encroachments obstructing movement outside designated zones will be cleared. Designated trading spaces will be marked and lined.
- Facilities: The first-floor public restrooms will be opened, and additional marshals will be deployed to monitor and fine rule-breakers.
- Designated vending spaces will be marked and lined for traders in front of the market. Vendors obstructing movement outside the allotted spaces will face penalties.
