To commemorate the glorious occasion of the historic victory of the Indian Armed Forces over Pakistan in the 1971 War and to pay homage to our gallant warriors, ‘Vijay Diwas’ was celebrated on 16 December 2022 at the Headquarters Training Command, Bengaluru. The heroic victory is an epitome of exemplary leadership, courage, nationalistic spirit and fortitude of the Indian Armed Forces. The heroic deeds and glorious stories of valour exhibited by armed forces personnel shall remain immortal besides being a source of inspiration for generations to come.
On this solemn occasion, a Wreath Laying ceremony was organized the HQ TC War Memorial to pay homage to the martyrs. Hon’ble Thawar Chand Gehlot, Governor of Karnataka and Air Marshal Manavendra Singh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Training Command laid wreaths at the War Memorial to commemorate the occasion. Commodore Roopan Bembey, Station Commander Indian Naval Detachment paid the tributes on behalf of naval personnel. Senior Officers from Training Command and a large number of Veteran Officers from all the three services attended the ceremony displaying their solidarity and mark of respect for the martyrs. The entire arena was poignant with feelings of patriotism as the Guards impressively performed the ‘Salami Shastra’ followed by ‘ShokShastra’ with the buglers playing the tune of ‘Last Post’. The ceremony concluded with observance of a two minutes silence in memory of the Martyrs.
