1.6.2026-Bangalore: The prestigious honorary doctorate award ceremony by the American University of Spiritual Science, Bangalore was held on Monday, at the Shangri-La Hotel.
Former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, MP Dr. C.N. Manjunath, Chancellor Dr. B. Girish Kumar, Vice-Chancellor G. Arvind Ramaswamy were the chief guests on this occasion. The chief guests presented honorary doctorates to Padma Bhushan Shri Madurai T.N. Seshan, Padma Bhushan Smt. Sudha Ranganathan, Padma Shri Smt. Pratibha Prahlad, Padma Shri Smt. A. Kanyakumari.
The University conferred the prestigious honorary doctorate. The recipients of the honorary doctorate included Padma Bhushan awardees Madurai T. N. Seshagopalan and Sudha Raghunathan, Padma Shri awardees A. Kanyakumari and Pratibha Prahlad, as well as M. V. Priyank.
Speaking at the event, B. S. Yediyurappa stressed the importance of preserving and nurturing Indian culture, spirituality, classical arts and heritage knowledge systems. He appreciated the vision of the American University of Spiritual Science to disseminate spiritual education, music, dance, yoga and cultural values globally. He opined that such institutions play a vital role in connecting the younger generation with India’s rich heritage and leading the society in the direction of discipline, devotion and cultural pride.
In his address, Dr. C. N. Manjunath appreciated the contribution of artists, gurus and spiritual scholars in strengthening society through education and values. He congratulated the honorary doctorate recipients for their lifelong service to the fields of Indian classical arts and the heritage of spiritual knowledge.
