Bengaluru, 31 August 2025: The qualifying rounds of the KSLTA–ITF World Junior J30 Tournament 2025 have concluded at the S.M Krishna Tennis Stadium, Bengaluru, with four boys and four girls sealing their places in the main draw after two days of intense competition.
Strengthening the Karnataka presence in the main draw, Bellary’s rising talent Channa Mallikarjuna has been awarded a coveted wild card, while four boys have battled through the qualifiers to secure their spots. R. Gobinath underlined his trademark consistency with a commanding 6-0 6-0 win, while promising overseas entrant Niyanth Badrinarayanan (USA) impressed with his all-court skills to overcome India’s Varad Pol. 3rd seeded, Sumer Mehta showcased composure under pressure, surviving an early scare before closing out his final-round match with confidence. Atharva Shukla produced dominant efforts in his final-round victory.
In the girls’ section, four players have secured their spots in the main draw after battling through the testing qualifying rounds. 7th seed player, A. Deshmukh showed resilience in a hard-fought 6-2, 2-6, 7-5 win over Rishita Patil, while Devashree Mahadeshwar displayed grit and determination to edge past the 5th seed Shibani Gupte. 3rd seed Tejaswi Manneni lived up to her billing with a steady victory against Anjhalle Meka and Sai Ananya Varanasi produced a composed performance to defeat her opponent to complete the list of girls’ qualifiers.
The main draw begins tomorrow and the doubles main draw is scheduled to start on September 2nd, with matches from the quarterfinal stage. In its third consecutive year, the KSLTA–ITF World Junior J30 has become a key platform for grooming India’s next generation of tennis stars at Bengaluru’s iconic facilities at S.M Krishna Tennis Stadium and the Sri Kanteerava Stadium.\
