The government is committed to providing all kinds of facilities to agricultural universities. Agricultural researchers and farmers, Agriculture Minister Chaluvarayaswamy called for engaging in new research and innovations.
The Minister was speaking at the inauguration of the “Agricultural Fair – 2025” program organized by Bangalore Agricultural University at GKVK today.
He said that there were 4 agricultural universities in the state earlier. The 5th agricultural university was started last year and the Krishi Mela has been organized by all the 5 universities.
Food processing, value addition given top priority – Union Minister Ms. Shobha Karandlaje
Shobha Karandlaje, Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Labour and Employment, said, Food processing and value addition should be given high priority. Farmers should become economically empowered by exporting the fruits and vegetables they grow to different countries. The Central Government is taking steps to launch agricultural trains and agricultural planes in the coming days. Entrepreneurs should come forward to come up with new innovations. The Central and State Governments will provide cooperation for this, he said.
