Malleswaram: Om Sri Gangamma Devi fair and Hasee Karagada Mahotsava ceremony at Kodandarampuram for three days on 10th, 11th and 12th. BK Shivaram, President of Kadu Malleswara Friends, Anoop Iyengar, Congress Party leader, and Sudhakar Nataraj, President of Om Sri Gangamma Devi Temple Management Board, were present.
B.K.Sivaram,President of Kadu Malleswara Friends, said that Malleswaram has a historical history, such celebrations are necessary to preserve and cultivate the culture and traditions in the modern era so that the next generation remembers our traditions.
Sri Gangamma Devi’s Jatre Mahotsava and Hasee Karaga Mahotsava program will be held on 10th, 11th and 12th June in a grand manner for three days.
The worship of Shri Gangamma Devi has a history of 96 years.The Changavalla Nayakar family is responsible for the worship of Gangamma Devi. During the pre-independence era, Sarkal Maramma lived around the temple when there was an epidemic of plague, and then the worship of Goddess Gangamma began. A permanent temple for Goddess Gangamma was built in 2004 as per the wishes of the devotees.
On the 10th at 5 pm Ksheerakumbha procession, thousands of women carrying kalasha will leave Circle Maramma temple and reach Kodandarampurum.
Mangalya Sutradharana and Mahamangalarati to Sri Gangamma Devi at 6 am on 11th. Kumbhanaivedya at 12 noon and Mahamangalarathi at 7 in the evening from Hasi Pusula Karaga Temple via Haratu Kodandarampur, Vayalikaval, Malleswaram roads to reach the temple at 2 in the morning.
On 12th at 9-30 am Sumangali Puja and 12 noon Annasantharpane is arranged at the playground of Kodandarampur Praudashala.
At 5-30 pm, Devi’s chariot festival will reach the temple at 4 am through Kedandarampur, Malleswaram, Vaiyalikaval, and Guttahalli roads.
The ritual, tradition and style of worship in Karaga at Bangalore Dharmaswamy Temple is being performed in Gangamma Devi Hasee Karaga.
Goddess Gangamma is being worshiped so that diseases and troubles do not come and people of the country get happiness, peace and tranquility. Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra and Telangana states have a large number of Devi devotees.
Ten thousand neem and tulsi saplings are being distributed free of cost to the devotees coming as part of the World Environment Day celebrations.
Local associations and organizations are cooperating in this program and special opportunity has been given to local art groups.
Millions of devotees from Bangalorenagar, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Devanahalli, Yalahanka, Mysore districts will come to see the goddess.he explained.
