Bengaluru, January 12 (Karnataka News):
As part of the Republic Day, the 219th flower exhibition titled “Tejaswi – Vismaya K.P. Poornachandra Tejaswi’s Life-Writing Based” was organized by the Horticulture Department from January 14 to 26 at Lalbagh. K.P. Poornachandra Tejaswi was very interested in agriculture. In this regard, a demonstration on organic farming has been arranged. Selfie points have been made in this flower exhibition, which includes many special features. This is the first time that two flower tableaus have been arranged for display, which will travel around Lalbagh, said R. Girish, Secretary to the Government of the Horticulture and Sericulture Department.
Addressing a press conference on the 219th Flower Exhibition held at the Horticulture Information Center in Lalbagh today, he said that this time the flower exhibition will reflect Tejaswi’s writings, social concerns, farmer movements, and environmental concerns. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the 219th Flower Exhibition at the Lalbagh Glass House on January 14 at 4 pm.
Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, Minister for Mines and Geology and Horticulture S.S. Mallikarjun, Minister for Transport and Excise Ramalinga Reddy will participate as guests of honour. MLA from Chikkapet assembly constituency Uday B. Garudachar will preside over the program.
He said that the inauguration of the exhibition of Ikebana, Pushpa Bharati, Flower Rangoli, Vegetable Carving, Dutch Flower Arrangement, Thai Art, Animals and Bonsai Plants will be performed by Mrs. K.P. Susmita and Mrs. K.P. Ishani, daughters of K.P. Poornachandra Tejaswi, at 1 pm on January 17.
On January 23rd at 2.30 pm, prizes will be distributed to the winners of the glasshouse exhibitions, garden competitions, ikebana, flower arranging, flower rangoli, vegetable carving, Dutch flower arrangement, Thai art, animal and bonsai plant exhibitions, and painting competitions.
Major attractions of the flower show:
On either side of the entrance of the glass house, replicas of the flying fox and elephant, characters from Tejaswi literature, have been built. In front of the central part of the glass house, there is a flower arrangement by the Indo-American Hybrid Seeds Company. At the entrance of the glass house, there is a display of flowers and fruits amidst an attractive arrangement of flower pots.
An environmental exhibition of Tejaswi’s interest in the central part of the glass house. Statues of Kuvempu-Hemavati, Shivarama Karanth, Ramamanohar Lohia and Rajeshwari Tejaswi. Against the backdrop of the golden jubilee of the novel “Carvalho”, one of the most important works of Kannada literature, a scene from the novel “Carvalho” is depicted through flowers, plants and pictures, taking place against the backdrop of the Yettinabhuja peak amidst an attractive flower arrangement at the back of the central part of the glass house.
In the right-hand column of the central part of the glass house, there will be a caricature-statue of the multi-talented Tejaswi along with his book-character world. A huge exhibition of the fruits of nature. On the left-hand side of the central part of the glass house, there will be a vertical garden of the Mantramangalya concept. In the column behind the central part of the glass house, there will be an unveiling of caricature statues based on Tejaswi’s interests. Tejaswi’s facial expression blooming through thread art. Tejaswi’s facial expression as a bowl of rice. Ten attractive flower pyramids and pictures of Tejaswi and birds and insects combined with them. There will be an illustrated information exhibition on Tejaswi’s life, writings and achievements.
Flower domes blooming on pillars, unveiling of the paludarium concept, exhibition of Darjeeling cymbidium flowers, Tejaswi’s 3D artwork inside the forest, exhibition of rare fruits and flowers of nature, backing bands for the inauguration of the exhibition, in addition to using various types of special flowers for arranging various designs, more than 95 different annual flowers with attractive colors grown in pots, 8 types of chrysanthemums, roses, orchids, various colored poinsettias, pentascornia, bromeliads, tuberous-rooted begonias, celosia, statice, phlox, salvia, hydrangea, marigold, dahlia, zinnia, petunia. Cosmos, Clarkia, Centuria, Snapdragon, Gerbera, Hibiscus Dwarf, Pansy, Verbena. Kelenzo, Anthurium, Rusticia, Lanaria, Torenia, Arism, Melapedia. Coleus, Calibrochi, Adenium, Euphorbia Milli, Koofia, Lantana, Phyllanthus, Calalilly, Bougainvillea Mandovilla, Nasturtium, Balsam, Impatiens, Galaxenia, Hillbalsam, Geranium, Heliotrope, Vinca, Pentascornia, Achimenes, Tuby Rose, Cider Lily, Antirrhinum, Asper, Celosia, Annual Chrysanthemum, Hollyhock, Ageratum etc. He said that foggers, which will cool the interior of the glass house, and flower gardens, vegetable and medicinal plants from government and private companies will be on display.
Special features of the glass house exterior:
Photos, videos, and AI video clips depicting Tejaswi’s life and writing achievements will be displayed at 6 selected locations in Lalbagh using LED screens throughout the duration of the flower and flower exhibition. Tejaswi’s artworks identifying his solitude, world end, and environmental concerns will be displayed in the four corners of the lawn outside the glass house, and on both sides of the main entrance of the glass house, giant elephants, chimpanzees, and animal and bird artworks made of lantana from the Bandipur forest area, will be displayed.
Apart from these, an abstract artwork depicting Tejaswi’s face using colored balls, a national bird-peacock dancing with flowers, heart-shaped flower arches, a mega floral flow, the bending beauty of hanging flowers, a welcoming arch blooming in the form of a vertical garden, a Tejaswi stage, a Tejaswi photo gallery, bird pictures, and an insect world will be exhibited.
Necessary safety and improvement measures have been taken to facilitate the public coming to the fruit and flower exhibition. Drinking water has been arranged at 15 places. Measures have been taken for the safety of the public, including emergency treatment units, ambulance system. Toilets have also been arranged for the use of the public at various places. He said that steps have been taken to expand the metro transport system for the public for the smooth movement of passengers and to control vehicle traffic.
Online ticket booking system:
This time, to facilitate the public, entry tickets will be available near the glass house from 6 am to 9 am and at all entrances of Lalbagh from 9 am to 6.30 pm. Online ticket booking facility is available and to book tickets, one can visit the website https://hasiru.karnataka.gov.in/floweshow/login.aspx or scan the QR code and book tickets online.
The ticket price is fixed at Rs. 80 for adults, Rs. 100 on holidays, and Rs. 30 for children under 12 years. All school children under 6 years of age and up to class 10 wearing school uniform have free entry.
Performance of plays by K.P. Poornachandra Tejaswi from January 16 to 26:
The plays Nanna Tejaswi on January 16, Carvalho on January 18, Krishnagouda’s Elephant on January 20, Jugari Cross on January 22, Yamala Solu on January 24, and Annana Panipat on January 26 have been organized. These plays will play a significant role in effectively conveying Kannada literature, culture, and Tejaswi’s environmental thoughts among the common people.
Parking system:
Spectators arriving by vehicle can park at the multi-storey car park near Shanthinagar Bus Stand on Double Road, Hopcoms premises near Double Road and BBMP multi-storey car park on JC Road. He appealed to those arriving on two-wheelers to park their vehicles at the parking area of ​​Al Amin College premises near the main gate of Lalbagh.
Horticulture Director Parasivamurthy, Additional Directors Dr. M. Jagadish, Krishna Murthy, Prakash Sabard, and Dundi were present at the press conference.
