The first agricultural festival of the year is being celebrated on January 24th from 7.00 am to 4.00 pm near the Ganapati temple on the GKVK premises.
An exhibition and sales system will be organized for agricultural products/agricultural implements developed by the Agricultural Colleges, Agricultural Science Centers, Extension Education Units and Research Centers of the Agricultural University and for agricultural products and implements developed by farmers and farmer producer organizations with the scientific advice of the University.
This time, the specialties of the farmers’ festival include watermelon, cantaloupe, peas, various products made from cow dung (money, wall hangings, mobile stars, Ganesh idols, etc.), quality Rajamudi rice, fresh mushrooms, healthy fruit and vegetable drink mixes, ornamental fish fry, etc.
In addition, there will be a display and sale of products such as value-added products of cereals, organic products, horticulture: mango, jackfruit, aromatic and medicinal plants, ornamental plants, bio-fertilizers, agricultural machinery, vermicompost, plant protection: bio-pesticides, handicrafts: areca nut products, by-products of sericulture, beekeeping, commercialized products, animal husbandry, agricultural publications, information about the university, etc., the release said.
